Check out for infection when there are other symptoms.
One of the commonest complaints every woman would have at some point in their lives is a backache. But, if that comes along with other symptoms like a vaginal discharge and a lower abdominal pain which seems to recur too often with varying intensity, then she needs to be investigated.
A woman’s pelvis contains uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes connecting through them.
The mouth of the uterus enters into the cervix downwards and is
capable of resisting and blocking any infection to get through with a
production of protective cells lining the area. But certain infective
agents spreading through sexual transmission like gonorrhea, Chlamydia
and certain other bacteria have the potential to break through and
spread through to the internal organs causing an infection. Backache is
as usual a limiting factor.
There is a vaginal discharge between the appearance of menstrual
periods which is more of a spotting and tends to disappear the next
day.
There could be an offensive discharge too which can take a yellow or a
greenish colour as and when the intensity of infection is high. This
could be associated with itching in the external genitalia, etc.
Often such women suffer from a painful intercourse. If the infection is predominant it could lead to fever too.
As the infection spreads to the mouth of uterus and into the lining of the uterus there is erratic bleeding.
If it spreads along the course of the fallopian tubes the ensuing
discharge tends to block the area and is the reason for some cases of
infertility wherein the ovum discharged from the uterus does not seep
through. The infection is all likely to spread to the ovaries too and
is termed as ‘oophoritis’. Since this disease can also cause a burning
sensation while passing urine, it is sometimes confused for a urinary
tract infection.
Abdominal pain is another feature of such an infection and more so a
woman feels there is tenderness on pressure on the abdomen.
This particular infection is more likely to spread through sexual transmission and it is imperative to practice safe sex.
In an event of one partner suffering from this infection, both need
to be treated simultaneously so that it is rooted out for good.
This condition is known to cause infertility and ectopic pregnancy
too wherein the fertilised ovum gets implanted at areas apart from the
cavity of uterus and can be life threatening if not attended to
promptly.
In such a scenario, it is necessary to treat it on time or at least on being able to identify it.
Homoeopathic medicine has good remedies like Ac. Nit, Kreosote, Borax
which can help when there is a predominant infection of the cervix
producing the typical discharge. If there is spread of the infection to
the uterine layer remedies like Kali carb, Pulsatilla, Colocynth would be of use. If the fallopian tubes are affected Arsenic alb and Mercurius are of help. Apis mel, Thuja
have always been able to influence the affection of the ovaries.
During surgery pus can be removed, scar tissue can be excised and if at
all the any of the tissues are damaged they would be cleared too.
Such complementary medication can help get rid of the Pelvic inflammatory disease and prevent complications.

anxiety and to a certain extent depression too that have manifested in
